These books weren't the worst I've ever read, but they were far from the best. The author desperately needs to find an editor! I found dozens of mistakes through the whole series, ranging from simple spelling errors/typos to actually giving the main character the wrong name. The writing is also very formulaic -- even more so than your usual romance novel. Sometimes it seemed that she literally copy-and-pasted whole passages. This was especially noticeable in the sex scenes. They were all nearly identical, almost word-for-word. The good thing at least was that the naughty bits were plentiful.All in all I'd recommend these books if you're looking for a fun, quick read -- but not if you're looking for anything other brain candy. I enjoy paranormal romances, and these definitely were creative (I've read hundreds, if not more, of romance novels and don't recall ever encountering minotaurs and certain of the Gods and Goddesses she weaves into the story) but I guess I've been spoiled by the likes of Kresley Cole and J.R. Ward. I was hoping for better developed characters and more professional writing. Still, the Avernus books were fun to read!

Good story line in all books highly recommend
Not your average paranormal romance here. All five books are very hot, with great characters and story lines. Easy quick reads.
This was a good read thought there were some parts I had to skip over as they were not interesting to me, luckily they were far and few between.
perfect read on the beach and long drive... wish there was a little more intrigue on the first few books, but your still interested the entire time and hooked on finding out more on Mel and Suri.
I have enjoyed this series and read it voraciously. These books kept me up at night I got so involved in the storyline and characters I could not do housework nor cook. Jennifer Kohout has written other novels and her latest series Improper Women of Romance Box Set delivers an even more exciting journey into romance.
